This article focuses on the managerial discretion that public managers experience. More specifically, it discusses how managerialism is an embedded ideological stance that influences understandings of public sector governance. I argue that managers' perceptions of discretion are affected by these understandings. The analysis draws on empirical data from a longitudinal study, demonstrating how public managers engage discourses emanating from managerialism in order to rationalize increased discretion. The findings suggest that customer perspectives functions as a rationalizing factor for engaging public managers' transition towards increased discretion. As such, this article contributes to knowledge about managerial discretion as well as managerialism.

The overarching purpose of this article is to add to the theorization of the Anthropocene in organization studies by investigating how long-term planetary concerns can be better accounted for in organizing. To do so, the article draws on the scholarship of Jacques Rancière to show how the dichotomy of nature and culture shapes the dominant framings of organizing, and to outline premises for artistic, scholarly and political interventions into the status quo that could aid the process of making our entanglements with the geo-biophysical politically viable. The article concludes that the Anthropocene can add to a renewal of organizational and political decision-making processes through a radical rethinking of the liberal humanist separation of nature and culture and related concepts such as democracy and political subjecthood.

Geleneksel iş modellerini ve yerleşik hayatı reddederek zamandan ve mekândan bağımsız hareket eden dijital göçebeler, yeni yerler, kültürler ve insanlar tanıma amacıyla sık seyahat eden ve tüm işlerini dijital olarak yürüten bireylerdir. Mevcut araştırma kapsamında dijital göçebe kavramına yönelik detaylı bir literatür incelemesi gerçekleştirilmiş ve araştırmaların sınırlı bir çerçevede ele alındıkları tespit edilmiştir. Bu araştırmanın amacı günümüzde giderek sayıları artan dijital göçebelere yönelik eğilimleri keşfetmenin yanı sıra topluluğun günümüz ve gelecekteki önemini ortaya koymaktır. Araştırmanın önemini ise dijital göçebe olma motivasyonları, destinasyon tercih kriterleri, dijital göçebe olmanın avantajlı ve dezavantajları durumları ve dijital göçebelerin yeni medya ile etkileşimleri gibi farklı açılardan topluluğa dair eğilimleri keşfetmesi yönüyle alana özgün katkı sunması oluşturmaktadır. Nitel bir araştırma olarak tasarlanan bu çalışmada veri toplama aracı olarak yarı-yapılandırılmış derinlemesine görüşme ve içerik analizinden yararlanılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler, nitel analiz yazılım programlarından biri olan MAXQDA aracılığıyla analize tabi tutulmuştur. Bulgulara göre katılımcıların dijital göçebe kavramını zamansal, mekânsal ve finansal açıdan özgürlük olarak tanımladıkları ve dijital göçebeliğin ancak sürdürülebilir bir iş modeli ile uzun vadeli olabileceği gibi sonuçlara ulaşılmıştır.
