Abstract: INTRODUCTION Intra-articular impacted fragment (IAIF) is commonly found in the Pilon variant posterior malleolar (PVPM) fracture. Poor quality of reduction may result in articular incongruity, leading to ankle function impairment and ultimately traumatic arthritis.
