A retrospective study of ultrasound-guided intervention for frozen shoulder in the frozen stage

Abstract: BackgroundTo investigate the clinical value of ultrasound (US)-guided intervention for frozen shoulder (FS) in the frozen stage.MethodsThis study included 40 patients who had primary FS in the frozen stage and were evaluated by US. These 40 patients have all received conservative treatment elsewhere, and no satisfactory results have been achieved, with no improvement in active and passive movement angles, and no improvement in scores within 3 months. Therefore, their previous treatment was set as comparison. A… Show more

“…[19,20] Musculoskeletal ultrasound is currently used to study the blood flow signal of the rotator cuff space, the thickness of the glenohumeral joint capsule, and the thickness of the coracohumeral ligament in patients with scapulohumeral periarthritis. [2] In this study, ultrasound interventional therapy has been performed for a long time, and a good therapeutic effect has been achieved in patients with scapulohumeral periarthritis. In the process of treating scapulohumeral periarthritis, it is of clinical significance to identify the ultrasonic manifestations of the posterior capsule of the shoulder joint in patients with scapulohumeral periarthritis.…”

“…These symptoms become increasingly deteriorated to a certain extent, followed by a gradual relief, and eventually a complete recovery. [ 2 ] Periarthritis of the shoulder is a common disease, of which the main symptoms are shoulder joint pain and inconvenience. [ 3 ] The onset age of the disease is approximately 50 years, and its incidence is slightly higher in women than in men.…”

“…Scapulohumeral periarthritis, also known as periarthritis of the shoulder, is characterized by a gradual development of shoulder pain, which is more pronounced at night with limited functions [69]. Yu et al [70] examined the efficiency of combining an intelligent clustering analysis algorithm with musculoskeletal ultrasound imaging for the differential diagnosis and rehabilitation of scapulohumeral periarthritis.…”
