“…There is an urgent need of incentives for the investment and the setting of taxes that reflect the total environmental cost of conventional fuels in order to overcome the constraints to the development of sun-powered cooling technology. The works of (Boopathi Raja & Shanmugam, 2012;Dickinson et al, 2010;Testi et al, 2016) highlight the costs of implementing and using this type of technologies, even making comparisons between them.…”

“…The most common pairs of working fluid in absorption chillers are lithium bromide-water (LiBr-H2O) and ammonia-water (NH3-H2O) [18]. The LiBr-H2O pair is more dominant in absorption chillers since it is cheaper, stable, free of toxins and not harmful to the environment [19]. It also has a relatively high latent heat of vaporization, less volatile than water, therefore, a rectifier is not required in the cycle [20].…”

“…Boopathi Raja et al review the past efforts of solar assisted-single effect vapor absorption cooling systems using a LiBr-H 2 O mixture for residential buildings [4]. Their results suggest that two important parameters determine the most economical solar cooling systems.…”
