A Review of Human Settlement Research on Climate Change Response under Carbon-Oriented: Literature Characteristics, Progress and Trends

Abstract: Climate issues have affected the sustainable development of global human settlements, and carbon, an essential factor affecting climate change, has become a hotspot of academic concern. This paper analyzes the research characteristics, stages and planning of carbon-oriented climate change response research in human settlements based on the literature related to research on carbon-oriented human settlements for climate change, hereinafter referred to as RCHSCC, included in the Web of Science core database since… Show more

“…The bibliometric examination has likewise been utilized in different exploration fields like examination on development (Biemans et al, 2007), research on administration (Zupic & Cˇater, 2015), research on the travel industry (Merig´Hai et al, 2019;Mulet-Forteza et al, 2018;Vishwakarma & Mukherjee, 2019), business research (Valenzuela-Fernandez et al, 2019), and research in geophysics (Mulet-Forteza et al, 2020). While research on human security in the field of ecological security on environmental change influences from carbon use (An et al, 2022), other than that, exploration of human security in the field of food security has been done by Bellia et al (2022) about collaborations between road food and sanitation points in the logical writing a bibliometric examination with science planning. In contrast to Okolie and Ogundeji (2022), who explored the effect of Coronavirus on food security, as of recently, there has been no examination that explicitly talks about the Coronavirus pandemic as a feature of a fiasco that is remembered for the security classification in which there is well-being security which is then examined by VOSviewer bibliometrics.…”

“…Since the 20th century, the impact of climate risks on various elements of human settlements, including ecology, settlement forms, and infrastructure, has been steadily increasing [1,2]. According to the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the Earth's average temperature has risen by 0.4 to 0.8 • C since the 20th century, accelerating in the last 60 years [3].…”

“…However, few research results have utilised knowledge mapping to analyse the literature on CCHSR. Previous studies have primarily focused on the urban microclimate [17], ecosystem health [18], and carbon-oriented impacts of human settlements [2]. While these reviews have provided valuable insights into the relationship between human settlements and climate change, they have paid little attention to the characteristics and stages of research on climate-change-oriented human settlements.…”
