A Review of the Current Efforts of the Projected Shell Model in Nuclear Structure Physics

Abstract: The Projected Shell Model (PSM) of Hara and Sun is reviewed. This is a shell model developed for the medium to heavy systems. Although the model can be applied to a variety of collective modes, its current numerical code is primarily designed to study nuclear structure of well deformed systems, in high and low spin states.
