A review of the open charm and open bottom systems

Abstract: Since the discovery of the first charmed meson in 1976, many open-charm and open-bottom hadrons were observed. In 2003 two narrow charm-strange states [Formula: see text] and D (2460) were discovered by the BaBar and CLEO Collaborations, respectively. After that, more excited heavy hadrons were reported. In this work, we review the experimental and theoretical progress in this field.

“…We refer to the review [7] for more discussions on this point. The doubly charmed baryons have been extensively studied using various theoretical methods, such as various quark models [8], the bag model [9], QCD sum rules [10], lattice QCD simulation [11], and others (for a incomplete list of works see Refs.…”

“…are also P -wave charmed baryon candidates of the flavor 6 F [7-13]. These charmed baryons are interesting in a theoretical point of view, and many phenomenological methods/models were proposed to study them [14], such as various quark models [15][16][17][18][19][20], various dynamical models [21][22][23][24][25][26], the hyperfine interaction [27,28], and the Lattice QCD [29][30][31], etc [32][33][34][35][36]. Their productions and decay properties were studied in Refs.…”

“…Reviewing the heavy baryon sector, the ground states of singly heavy baryons and two doubly heavy baryons have been found experimentally, to date [4]. The excited state masses are well-known only for the singly heavy baryons in the charm sector [5,6]. Now, we can expect such discovery of triply heavy baryons as well.…”
