A review on control systems hardware and software for robots of various scale and purpose. Part 3. Extreme robotics

Abstract: A review of robotic systems is carried out. The paper analyzes applied hardware and software solutions and summarizes the most common block diagrams of control systems. The analysis of approaches to control systems scaling, the use of intelligent control, achieving of fault tolerance, reducing the weight and size of control system elements belonging to various classes of robotic systems is carried out. The goal of the review is finding common approaches used in various areas of robotics to build on their basis… Show more

“…These include a web interface and a mobile device from which the system is controlled and sensor readings are monitored. The second part is the central controller, which allows the user system to interact with sensors and peripherals [9][10][11][12]. The third part is sensors and peripherals, with the help of which environmental readings are taken.…”

“…Each SCC, which includes a combination of a matrix coprocessor [46] and a general-purpose processor and performs computations requested by managing device, built on the basis of an x86 embedded computer running Linux operating system. This architecture is inspired by the ones used in space robotics [47], which makes it suitable and attractive for adaptation to other application areas where the robust and maintenance-free operation of equipment is required in long terms; for example, for autonomous PVPPs.…”
