Abstract:Requirement of energy for automobiles is increasing everyday as we take a step towards development. The use of nonrenewable energy sources such as fossil fuels is leading to an increase in pollution. There was research performed by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in 2007 and it was found that a normal family car produces approximately three to four tonnes of carbon dioxide per year, similarly six tonnes of carbon dioxide was produced by a large four-wheel drive like a van yearly.
