“…The A group% ZC to M ratio was markedly extratensive, the sum of C being more than twice the sum of M. These results suggest that the acting-out group's orientation to the environment is governed by extreme emotional reactivity with limited control over the potential discharge of emotions of a labile and impdsive nature. These findings appear to be in accord with the ZC dominated experience type reported for alcoholic groups (Billig & Sullivan, 1943;Buhler & Lefever, 1947;Button, 1956) and for known acting-out groups (Cerney & Shevrin, 1974;Finney, 1955;Haskell, 1961;Kahn, 1959;Perdue, 1961;Rizzo & Ferracuti, 1959;Sommer & Sommer, 1958;Townsend, 1967;Walters, 1953). The W-M score's correct classification of 7570 of the 8s is consonant with the literature on the prediction of aggressive acting-out behavior.…”

“…The most valuable experiments in this connexion seem to have been made using Rorschach studies; for example, those by Buhler & Lefever (1947), Button (1956) and Tahka (1966). The results produced by these research workers are in agreement: the alcoholic shows both psychopathic and neurotic traits.…”
