“…Recently, we have developed an interesting building block, N,N 0 -[(2,3,5,6-tetrafluoro-1,4-phenylene)bis(methylene)]bis(pyridine-4-carboxamide) (H 2 tfpbbp), which has a flexible disposition of the pyridyl, carboxamide, and methylene groups around a tetrafluorinated benzene skeleton that will promote the formation of secondary interactions. As far as we know, with the exception of a microporous Zn II complex of H 2 tfpbbp [10], coordination polymer with such flexible bis-pyridyl carboxamide ligands based on a fluorinated backbone has not been reported so far. As one of our systematic works, we present herein two novel Cu II coordination polymers {[Cu(H 2 -tfpbbp)(tfpbbp)(H 2 O)] Á 2DMFÁ4H 2 O} n (1) and {[Cu(H 2 tfpbbp) 2 (ClO 4 ) 2 ] Á 3H 2 O} n (2) that display an extended distinctness of 2-D (4,4) networks derived from the conformational discrepancy of the ligands (anti in 1 and gauche in 2, see Scheme 1).…”
