“…Among various epoxidation methods, including the conventional reaction of an alkene with an organic peroxide acid, or methods involving an acid ion exchange resin (AIER) or a metal catalyst, the chemo-enzymatic epoxidation has achieved great interest since this method is non-harmful and environmentally friendly, and its conversion rate is usually over 90% (Tan and Chow 2010).
