Abstract: BACKGROUND: Patients diagnosed with cancer and who undergo cancer treatment are at potential risk of bone marrow suppression leading to prolonged hospitalization, delay in treatment, and chemotherapy dose reductions, which ultimately results in significant morbidity and mortality.
