A service accountability framework for QoS service management and engineering

Abstract: Service science, management and engineering (SSME) research is to study the methodology and technology for service innovation, design, development and delivery. Since service industry is very quality-sensitive and trust-dependent, we propose a service accountability management framework to detect, diagnose, defuse and disclose the root cause for any problematic service process. The accountability support is important for SSME since service processes often rely on external service providers to deliver part of t… Show more

“…The antecedent role of organizational climate on psychological contract Extant literature has linked organizational climate to different outcomes for example, increased commitment (Weyland, 2011), corporate success (Lucas and Kline, 2008;Weyland, 2011), better performance (Weyland, 2011), accountability (Lin and Chang, 2009), integrity (Lin and Chang, 2009), return of poached employees (Weyland, 2011) and knowledge management (Lucas & Kline, 2008). All these outcomes indicate performance in given specific areas, but none of these studies associate organizational climate to psychological contract, yet psychological contract plays a vital role in employee-employer relationships in the organization.…”

“…Accountability, which is questioning the organizational activities or outcomes, ensures continuity of activities (Andre, 2010), enabling the monitoring of services, the identification of errors, and the verification of the adequacy of individual services (Lin and Chang, 2009). In addition, accountability, a tool that organizations use to capture maximum performance, allows institutions to learn from their mistakes and righteousness (Cavill and Sohail, 2007).…”

“…Generally speaking, accountability infers consideration of five elements: project objectives, quality indicators, benchmarks, program monitoring, and periodic feedback (Chang & Lin, 2009). Four of these five elements -fault, causality, role, and liability -play a part, particularly with regard to computer decision systems.…”

“…In addition, SOA increases Sentinel's performance, reliability, and accountability. SOA integrates accountability in that it offers a greater likelihood that the key phases of accountable computing will occur for detection, diagnosis, defusion, and disclosure (Chang & Lin, 2009). Since the detection phase includes determining expected service system behaviors (requirements), the FBI's implementation of SOA after 2004 provided a foundation for measuring performance and was contrary to its approach to Trilogy, during which undefined or non-existent requirements became a chief complaint on all sides.…”
