A service-oriented approach for developing adaptive distribution chain

Abstract: This paper presents a service-oriented approach for development of adaptive distribution chain. The distribution chain presented in this paper achieves all the three objectives of an adaptive chain: Firstly, to achieve variability, this paper proposes an approach that uses iterations to fine-tune the modules that makeup the distribution chain. Secondly, to achieve visibility, this paper proposes Web services based Service Component Architecture for implementation of the distribution chain. Finally, mathematica… Show more

There are four components including processing and response speed, security of personal information, career planning services and stability of information system.…”

“…It appears there are two areas of competence for the small shop to successfully participate in a viable supply chain: information technology and achieving cost competitiveness in the physical movement of product by creating high equipment utilisation, factors described alternatively by Davidrajuh (2007) as "variability, visibility [information systems driven] and velocity [physical movement]".
