Abstract:Joint damage is a major symptom of osteoarthritis, a degenerative disease that worsens over time. The purpose of this review was to assess the effectiveness and safety of nanomaterials as an alternative to the widely used methods. Due to its poor regenerative and self-healing properties, cartilage repair after lesions or debilitating disease is a major clinical issue. Here, we use the organometallic chemistry identity of chondroitin sulphate to repair cartilage lesions by creating a nano-elemental particle thr… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
