A Simple Ca Model for Signal Transduction in Plants

Abstract: The classical cellular automata model has been modified by introducing "shadow" states or perturbations to represent the application of external signals to a configuration of discrete individual units. Simple update rules are studied to determine which of them are best suited to produce the emergent computation which can simulate signal transmission within a system.
