A Simple Dietary Questionnaire Correlates With Formal Dietitian Evaluation and Frequently Identifies Specific Clinical Interventions in an Outpatient Gastroenterology Clinic

Abstract: A 1-page diet questionnaire correlated well with formal dietary assessment and identified clinically relevant dietary interventions in a high percentage of GI patients.

“…We highlighted the responses related to low adherence to treatment: lack of time, expensive drugs that are not compatible with the budget of some patients, forgetting to take medication and lack of family support. The lack of time reported by patients may be associated with limited health literacy about the disease, which leads to a decrease in the patient's self-e cacy and commitment to treatment (Dubin et al 2016).
