A simple mass-rearing method for predaceous Orius bugs in the laboratory

Abstract: Orius strigicollis (Poppius) and O. laevigatus (Fieber) (Heteroptera: Anthocoridae) can be reared successfully using a plastic Petri dish (90 mm in diameter, 20 mm in depth) as a rearing cage with wheat grains to prevent cannibalism and excessive moisture. Frozen eggs of Ephestia kuehniella were supplied as food and a soybean seedling was provided as an oviposition substrate.
