“…There is a lack of effective means to detect the pH in pathological tissue under such extreme acidic and alkaline conditions, 29 and most are detected in a single range. 8,10,30 1,8-Naphthalimide derivatives exhibit high luminescence efficiency, excellent photostability, large stock shi, and easy modication of the molecular structure. Additionally, NDI derivatives show excellent environmental sensitivity and a strong internal charge transfer (ICT) character.…”

“…Domino and multicomponent reactions allow rapid and efficient construction of molecular complexity; they are widely used for the synthesis of natural products and analogues,, pharmaceutical substances, functional materials,, macrocyclizations, Employing these tools for the preparation of fluorophores and electrophores emerged as a useful technique, enabling fast creation of numerous scaffolds with diverse structure and needful properties. Indolizines are indeed sought‐for heterocycles,, which have various applications as biologically active compounds, dyes, molecular probes and sensors . They are also well‐known fluorophores, with some recent examples of multicomponent syntheses .…”

“…To our surprise, the dicyanomethylidene group of probe DDTM, one of cyanide receptors, has no reaction with cyanide ion except OH - [24]. Compared with other reported pH probes [25][26][27][28][29][30][31][32], probe DDTM exhibited strong pH-dependent behaviour, high selectivity, sensitivity and responded linearly and rapidly to respond pH fluctuations within the range of 9.0 -14.0. Specially, probe DDTM displayed a notably large Stokes shift of 198 nm and high fluorescence quantum yields.…”
