Ultrasound for diagnostic applications has a wide field of usage. As well as being used as a diagnostic tool, for therapeutic effects of ultrasound, low intensity and pulsed ultrasound is used. In recent years, lowintensity ultrasound usage has increased as supplementary treatment method especially in wound and bone healing. The effect of ultrasound on dentoalveolar structures has been attempted to enlighten by new studies. The purpose of this review is to describe the field of usage of the low intensity ultrasound.
