Abstract:The accuracy and efficiency of the wheel‐rail adhesion model are important to the wheel‐rail rolling contact issues. The purpose of this study is to develop a simplified non‐Hertzian wheel‐rail adhesion model under interfacial contaminations to predict the wheel‐rail adhesion coefficient.
