A small CPW‐fed UWB antenna with dual band‐notched charectrestics using two stepped impedance resonators

Abstract: In this article, we propose a compact cpw‐fed ultra‐wideband (UWB) antenna with dual band‐notched characteristics. The dual band‐notched are achieved by using two stepped impedance resonators. The measured results show that the proposed antenna has an impedance bandwidth from 2.97 to 10.7 GHz (113%), defined by VSWR<2, with two notched bands, covering all the WiMAX (3.3–3.6 GHz), WLAN (5.2–5.8 GHz), the antenna has a small size (20 × 20 × 1.6 mm3), and almost stable omnidirectional radiation pattern. The propo… Show more

“…The new generation of wireless and mobile communications systems plays an essential role in the MSA [2]. Many similar antennas have been proposed, often with dimensions too enormous for practical application [3, 4]. A large and very complex radiating patch used in [3] and in [4] a CPW fed antenna using two stepped impedance resonators are presented.…”

There were additional suggestions for some compact antennas [5][6][7][8][9][10].…”

“…To overcome the interference, several techniques for band notch purposes have been introduced. Employing different shapes of the slots is one the very common techniques to obtain desired band notches . Employing parasitic‐coupled elements to reject a band , and using various type of resonators are the other known techniques that have been reported in literature .…”

“…Most of these references focused on designing antennas with one notch characteristic expected for [18]. However, some papers with multiple notches are reported in [25][26][27]. In this paper, with a novel approach of combining the mentioned methods, a four notched ultra wideband antenna is presented.…”
