Abstract: o texto, inspirado na literatura, tenta sistematizar a problemática da socialização de professores - um processo ao longo da vida e que é materializado em etapas formais e itúormais. Enquanto que as etapas formais se caracterizam na formação inicial, contínua e especializada de professores (com suas potencialidades), as informais caracterizam-se na socialização antecipatória e na formação permanente (esta mais ampla e que vai para lá da formação profissional).
