A Solid State Plasma Multifunctional Metamaterial and Its Application for Energy Absorbing and Cross Polarization Conversion

Abstract: With the increasing expectations of electromagnetic devices, the defects of monofunctional devices that are susceptibly limited by external constraints are becoming more and more obvious and the integration of multiple functions has gradually become the pursuit of researchers. In this paper, a novel multifunctional metamaterial tailored by the solid state plasma (SSP) is proposed. By inspiring the particular SSP resonators, such a metamaterial can be handily switched back and forth among two functions and form… Show more

“…Dutta et al designed a five-layer absorbingpolarization/polarimetric metamaterial device with a square ring and a PIN diode at the top and a slightly wider diamond square ring in the middle, as shown in figures 6(a) and (b) [99]. When the PIN diode is on, it is in the absorbing state, Using solid state plasma (SSP), Zeng et al designed a multifunctional metamaterial absorber that can switch between the absorption and polarization of EMW [100]. The device is divided into five layers, the most important is the top layer and the middle layer of the resonator structure, whose structures are similar, composed of a middle helix and diagonal L structure.…”

“…[ 62 ] By exciting the corresponding solid‐state plasma resonator, dual‐band absorption performance and polarization conversion function were generated in different frequencies. [ 63 ] Band reconfigurable asymmetric transmission was further obtained based on the marriage of the solid‐state plasma and a tuning method. [ 64 ] In ref.…”
