A Stacked Microstrip Patch Antenna With Fractal Shaped Defects

Abstract: In this paper, a novel type of stacked microstrip patch antenna is presented in which fractal shaped defects have been excoriated from the patch surfaces. The antenna has been designed for dual band operation at the WLAN 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz frequency bands and size reduction for both the stacked patches is achieved due to the use of fractal shaped defects.
