El presente trabajo tuvo como objetivo general desarrollar un modelo de control Neuro – difuso de la distribución de agua en el tramo km 8+000 – 20+000 del canal de riego IRCHIM 2020, que posibilite aumentar la operatividad sobre el canal, así como disminuir las pérdidas de agua por concepto de operación, el tipo de estudio fue aplicada, con diseño experimental en la categoría pre experimental, la población fueron los puntos de distribución de agua del canal IRCHIM, el muestreo fue no probabilístico por conveniencia. De los resultados se obtuvo que el canal principal de riego necesita un control para la correcta distribución de agua para riego, como para el tratamiento para la potabilización, así mismo se desarrolló un modelo de control neuro-difuso a la medida del tramo seleccionado del canal, El PLC utilizado está basado en la tecnología de Arduino diseñado para uso profesional y programado en MATLAB, así mismo El PLC consta de 17 entradas/salidas y también contiene varios puertos de comunicación que proporcionan mayor flexibilidad y control, pues la familia M-DUINO ofrece la posibilidad de expandir hasta 127 módulos a través de I2C, lo que significa que puede tener hasta 7 100 Entradas/Salidas en conexiones Maestro-Esclavo, además de sensores, etc., y el sensor piezométrico presenta un rango de medición de 0 a 10 metros, su fuente de alimentación es de 12 a 24 V, presenta una comunicación RS-485 MODBUS RTU y por último presenta una protección IP68, estas herramientas de sensores, actuadores y controladores, quiere decir que la implementación de un modelo de control neuro-difuso en el canal principal de riego IRCHIM mejora la distribución de agua para riego y para el tratamiento de potabilización para consumo humano.

The efficiency that drinking water suppliers have, is widely analyzed in the literature due to the importance of its proper diagnosis in the regulation of the sector. These regulations seek, via the reduction of inefficiencies, to counteract water access crises. This research calculates the level of input-oriented technical efficiency of Ecuador’s potable water service providers in the period 2014–2017. It analyzes its determinants, focusing on the effect of the geographic region (Highlands, Coast, and Amazon), as well as the type of management, specifically municipal departments and autonomous public enterprises. For this purpose, the semi-parametric method of data envelopment analysis (DEA) with double bootstrap is used. The results suggest that drinking water suppliers could save the inputs used while maintaining their level of production. In addition, it was found that the level of technical efficiency differs by geographic region but not by the type of management used. The natural Highlands region is more efficient compared to the Coast and Amazon region, suggesting climatic and natural resource distribution heterogeneities that induce this difference. The result by type of management shows that the advantages indicated by some literature regarding the technical, financial, and administrative autonomy of public companies may not improve efficiency compared to municipal departments.

Regional Differences and Convergence of Urban Water Use Efficiency in the Yangtze River Economic Belt

This study used a two-stage network data envelopment analysis model to measure the water use efficiency of 108 cities in the Yangtze River Economic Belt in the initial water use and wastewater treatment phases from 2009 to 2019. We used the Dagum Gini coefficient to decompose the urban water use efficiency of six major urban clusters in the Yangtze River Economic Belt. We also used σ convergence and β convergence types to test the convergence characteristics of urban water use efficiency of six major urban clusters in the Yangtze River Economic Belt. This study found that the overall low level of water use efficiency in cities in the Yangtze River Economic Zone mainly stems from the low level of water use efficiency in the wastewater treatment stage. The 108 cities in the Yangtze River Economic Zone are divided into four types based on the average values of water use efficiency in the initial use and wastewater treatment phases; the highest number of cities are in the double-low category, with low average values of water use efficiency in the initial use and wastewater treatment phases. During the study period, spatial differences in urban water use efficiency in the Yangtze River Economic Zone narrowed, with the differences stemming mainly from hyperdensity, followed by intra- and inter-regional differences. Meanwhile, there is convergence in urban water use efficiency in the Yangtze River Economic Belt; significant β convergence in the urban agglomerations of the Yangtze River Delta, Jianghuai, middle reaches of the Yangtze River, Chengdu–Chongqing, and Central Yunnan; and insignificant β convergence in the Central Qian urban agglomeration. After considering control factors, such as industrial structure, financial development level, environmental regulation, economic development level, and science and education development level, the water use efficiency of the six major urban clusters in the Yangtze River Economic Belt converges faster, but the influence of these control factors on the water use efficiency of each urban cluster is heterogeneous. Research results have reference value for the development of improvement strategies on differentiated urban water use efficiency in the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
