A study of 3D finite element modeling method for stagger spinning of thin-walled tube

Abstract: Abstract:A modified 3D finite element (3D-FE) model is developed under the FE software environment of LS-DYNA based on characteristics of stagger spinning process and actual production conditions. Several important characteristics of the model are proposed, including full model, hexahedral element, speed boundary mode, full simulation, double-precision mode, and no-interference. Modeling procedures and key technologies are compared and summarized: speed mode is superior to displacement mode in simulation accur… Show more

“…The characteristic absorption wavelength of atractylenolide I is 274 nm, and is the same for atractylenolide II, III and atractylon (218-219 nm). To obtain optimal sensitivity and anti-interference ability, 274 nm was selected as the optimal detection wavelength for the analysis of atractylenolide I, and 218 nm was selected as the optimal detection wavelength for atractylenolide II, III and atractylon in a number of reported methods [28][29][30][31]. The optimal selection of the detection wavelength can improve the sensitivity.…”

“…The downward and axial movements of the rollers cause plastic deformation of the workpiece into a thin-walled long tubular part. 19 Counter-roller spinning uses internal rollers instead of mandrels and applies certain spinning forming forces on the workpiece by internal and external rollers to induce the plastic deformation simultaneously on the inner and outer surfaces of the workpiece. 20 The principle of counter-roller spinning is shown in Figure 2.…”

“…According to Figure 6, the ratio first reaches about 0.65, and decreases thereafter. However, in the rest of the process time, this ratio remains below 0.1, which denotes that the dynamic effects in these simulations have been controlled properly [25,26].…”
