“…Similar findings have been reported in nonclinical subjects by earlier studies (Iliceto et al, 2011;Rozsa et al, 2008). The multiple regression analyses of this study clarified that only cyclothymic and anxious temperaments significantly predicted depressive symptoms.…”

“…This finding was supported by higher path coefficients from the latent variable "temperament" to cyclothymic and anxious temperaments in the structural equation modeling. The earlier studies reported only correlations between temperaments and depressive symptoms, and they did not investigate the other factors that influenced temperaments (Iliceto et al, 2011;Rozsa et al, 2008). Our study revealed the direct effects of childhood abuse on temperaments, resulting in increased depressive symptoms.…”

“…Recent studies [70][71][72][73][74] point to an association between hyperthymic temperament and increased novelty seeking (NS) coupled with lower harm avoidance (HA); cyclothymic temperament and high harm avoidance and high novelty seeking; and depressive temperament with high harm avoidance and low novelty seeking; whereas irritable temperament was associated with increased novelty seeking as well as moderate harm avoidance; and anxious temperament with high harm avoidance and moderate novelty seeking. There was also a weak correlation reported between the five affective temperaments and the dimensions of reward dependence and persistence.…”

“…Akiskal's affective temperament is associated with domains of normal personality, as described by McCrae and Costa's five-factor model of personality (Blӧink, Briegera, Akiskal, & Marneros, 2005;Kwapil et al, 2013;Rózsa et al, 2008) and Cloninger's psychobiological model of temperament and character (Harnic et al, 2013;Ristić-Ignjatović et al, 2014;Róz-sa et al, 2008;. Studies confirm the similarity between the concept of affective temperaments and other models of personality, including normally functioning personality (temperament).…”
