A Study of Rockburst Hazard Evaluation Method in Coal Mine

Abstract: With the increasing of coal mining depth, the mining conditions are deteriorating, and dynamic hazard is becoming more likely to happen. This paper analyzes the relations and differences between rockburst in the coal mine and rockburst in the metal mine. It divides coal mine rockburst into two types including static loading type during roadway excavation process and dynamic loading type during mining face advancing. It proposes the correlation between the formation process of rockburst and the evolution of ove… Show more

“…This may include both the falling of rocks from the roof, as well as dynamic rock ejection into the workings resulting from rockburst. Such hazards occur frequently in mining worldwide and entail great risks for the personnel located in their impact zone [1][2][3][4][5]. The occurrence of rockbursts, which are caused by dynamic seismic events, is also relatively difficult to predict and control.…”

“…Microseismic monitoring can play an important role in the prediction of the rock bursts in deep mines [1][2][3]. As the moisture content of coal increases or decreases, the characteristics of microseismic and acoustic emissions also change.…”

“…Rock mass is a complex natural medium containing various defects, such as flaws, fissures, pores, and holes, where new cracks always initiate, then propagate, and coalesce with each other into macroscale fractures, leading to the rapid damage and failure to lower the stability of rock structures such as underground mining craven and tunneling [1][2][3][4].…”
