Abstract: Purpose: In this paper, storage lifetime of delay system in the fuse of 81MM illuminating projectile is estimated.Methods: Accelerated degradation testings of tungsten delay system using both temperature and humidity stresses were performed, and then delay time increase of the systems were analyzed as degradation data based on distribution-based degradation processes.Results: The estimated storage lifetime of detonator is between 11.8 years and 17.6 years with each stress-life relationship.Conclusion: Comparin… Show more

This study investigates the impact of resonant acoustic powder mixing on the delay time of the W–KClO4–BaCrO4 (WKB) mixture and its potential implications for powder and material synthesis. Through thermal analysis, an inverse linear relationship was found between thermal conductivity and delay time, allowing us to use thermal conductivity as a reliable proxy for delay time. By comparing the thermal conductivity of WKB mixtures mixed manually and using an acoustic powder mixer, we found that acoustic powder mixing resulted in minimal deviations in thermal conductivity, proving more uniform mixing. Furthermore, differential scanning calorimeter analysis and Sestak–Berggren modeling demonstrated consistent reaction dynamics with a constant activation energy as the reaction progressed in samples mixed using acoustic waves. These findings underscore the critical role of uniform powder mixing in enhancing the thermodynamic quality of the WKB mixture and emphasize the importance of developing novel methods for powder and material synthesis.

Purpose: This paper reviews the papers on reliability issues which are published in the Journal of the Korean Society for Quality Management (KSQM) since 1965. The literature review is purposed to survey a variety of reliability issues for several categories Methods: We divide all of reliability issues into 9 categories: acceleration test, reliability estimation, system reliability, software reliability, reliability data collection and analysis method, lifetime distribution, maintenance and warranty strategy, reliability applications, and reliability applications to military area Results: Dividing all of papers on reliability published in KSQM for 50 years into 9 categories, we provide a chronological roadmap for individual categories, and summarize the contents and contributions of surveyed papers Conclusion: The review paper is expected to provide future direction to improve reliaiblity theories and applications in manufacturing and service industries
