“…Several authors [3][4][5][6][7][8] have studied the optical, structural, and other properties of PVA with different dopant like, CuCl 2 , AgNO 3 , MnCl 2 , BaCl 2 , MgBr 2 , and FeCl 3 using different techniques. It was reported that both the type and concentration of the dopant have an influence in changing both properties and structure of the polymer.…”

“…PVA is a plasticizer that helps in the ionic transfer, which, somehow, is involved in diffraction efficiency and it is also possible to add other plasticizers to increase, even more, the diffraction efficiency. The gratings with DC voltage in the exposure process have modulated their diffraction efficiency; this permits some flexibility in the design of holographic gratings [32,33]. This material may have behavioral changes by temperature, because it works as a hydrogel due to PVA and FeCl 3 [34][35][36].…”

“…34 The incorporation of metal chlorides (CoCl 2 , CuCl 2 , and FeCl 3 ) into poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) and PVA produced intensity changes in infrared absorption bands of the polymers and resulted in a 10 6 -fold increase in the electrical conductivity of the films. [40][41][42] These effects resulted in a new, specific metal-polymer interaction, for which a model based on strong electrical coupling between the metal atoms and polar CACl and CAOH bonds of PVC and PVA, respectively, was presented. 41,42 The electrical characteristics of Shottky diodes are generally related by its interface quality.…”

The existence of such an interfacial layer can have a strong influence on the diode characteristics.…”
