A study on 3D representation of declarative content for web platform based hybrid TV

Abstract: This paper proposes a 3D representation method that can be used in web platform based hybrid 3DTV. In order to provide declarative content for stereoscopic TV service, we studied content separation and 3D representation techniques, including 3D positioning. As the result of this study, we have designed and implemented a 3D view volume for three dimensional spatial layout and stereoscopic rendering of each element by extending CSS. To verify the suggested method, we generated sample content and it demonstrated … Show more

“…Hybrid Broadcast Broadband TV (HbbTV), which was first standardized in Europe, is a standard consortium for harmonizing existing broadcasting and broadband contents on the internet to provide various hybrid services to terminal users through internet-connected television or set-top box. Likewise, ATSC provided the NRT service of using frequency idle band in ATSC 2.0 standard [2]- [3]. With regard to these standardizations, various researches have been conducted on hybrid broadcast services which uses MPEG-DASH as broadband technology and MPEG-2 TS[4] as broadcast technology [5]- [6].…”
