A Study on Expert System for Zoning by Mesh Data

Abstract

The objective of this study is to construct an expert system for zoning using mesh data． We create a knQwledge base， collects and colnpiles data ， and coDstructs systen ユ irlference rules to classify all ！ neshes to one of l2 z 〔 mil ユg districts ． The inference feature Qf this system collsists of three phases ． The first phase decides an outline of the zoning ， nalDely all meshes are temporarily specif 量 ed as 〔 〕ne of residentia1 ， commercial ， industrial ， and mixed areas ， The second phase classifies residential ， commercia 】 ， industria1 ， and mixed areas irlto ene ef 12zoning districts acc 〔〕 rding to detailed indexes ． The third phase coordinates the results ， arranges sites of a certain scale ， and respecifies meshes that are isolated from specified areas ． After experimenta ヱ ly applying this system to Fukuoka city ， we found that 8 〔 1％ of the results matches the zoning pr〔〕duced by the FukuQka auth 〔 〕 rities ． " 厂 e therefore concluded that this system perfornls quite weli ．
