This paper discussses scattering performance of scatterers covered by a dielectric slab, analytically. Firstly, an electric field expression is derived for current source with dielectric slab over a ground plane[1]- [3]. A two-dimensional wave equation is formulated and solved in a spectral domain. Far-field expression of TE/TM components are available once the inverse Fourier transform and saddle point method are applied to the electric field expression in spectral domain.According to the derived far-field expression, a couple of predictions are found for scattering field strength, effect of angle of incidence and applicability of the derived far-field expression to an arbitrary shaped scatterers. Numerical simulation is performed and it is demonstrated that the predictions work for practical scatterers. This paper is enhancement of our previous work [4].
