“…The larger number of nursing diagnoses selected in this study compared with two previous researches may be due to improved accessibility and ease of selection of nursing diagnoses in the Web-based nursing documentation system. The most frequently selected nursing diagnosis was acute pain; this result is consistent with previous research conducted with nursing students (Lee, 1995;Lee et al, 1987;Min, 1995). In addition, nurses working in the orthopedics unit (Kim, 2005), medical-surgical unit (Ko, 2008;Park, 2003), general surgical unit (Lee, 2005), and the obstetrics and gynecological unit (Kim, 2010) selected acute pain as the most prevalent nursing diagnosis for patients under their care, regardless of clinical setting.…”
