A Study on the Development of Reduction Facilities’ Management Standards for Agricultural Drainage for Disaster Reduction

Abstract: The agricultural drainage in rural area plays important roles in water supply and drainage for crop cultivation. Various kinds of debris near agricultural drainage, however, causes sedimentation in the drainage during rainfall. The debris introduced into the agricultural drainage moves out of the drainage under a high flow rate. This causes a reduction in the flow rate, which may affect the discharge capacity, resulting in crop damage. This study developed a reduction facility to reduce debris entering agricul… Show more

“…These include whether the bridge expansion device is deformed or cracked, whether there is an absence of sundries around the bridge bearing, the pier and abutment surface is kept clean and moss, weeds, thorns, etc. are removed in time, and the wall top plate surface is free of corrosion, peeling, and water leakage (Gunal et al, 2017;Yang et al, 2017;Chaudhari et al, 2020;Song and Park 2021). c) The third one-level indicator is River Water Environment, which mainly inspects the water environment quality such as the water surface cleanliness, water transparency, whether there is odor, ammonia nitrogen content, total phosphorus content, chemical oxygen demand (COD), and clear warning signs.…”

“…To avoid these undesirable conditions, it is necessary to have a strategy that can mitigate any accumulation of excess water in the soil profile to ensure high agricultural productivity. Agricultural drainage strategies have been reported as an effective tool that allows both farmlands and urban areas to get rid of excess water [10,11], and subsurface drainage systems are well-known practices for ensuring the desired moisture conditions in crops' root zones [12][13][14]. Due to the importance of these systems, researchers have been interested in assessing their performance and developing new technologies and approaches that help to fully understand the way in which such systems impact farmlands' water balance.…”
