The skin of the lesser bushbaby (Galago senegalensis) is relatively uncomplicated and resembles more the skin of some rodents than that of primates.
MATERIALS AND METHODSThese observations were made on the skin of one adult male and two females. Specimens of skin from the various regions of the body were removed while the animals were anesthetized. Paraffin sections of tissues, fixed in Helly's fluid and in 10% formalin, were stained with (a) toluidin blue, buffered to pH 5.0, (b) with hematoxylin and eosin, and (c) with the PAS technique; control sections for the PAS technique were previously digested with saliva.
