A subjective model for trustworthiness evaluation in the social Internet of Things

Abstract: The integration of social networking concepts into the Internet of Things (IoT) has led to the so called Social Internet of Things (SIoT) paradigm, according to which the objects are capable of establishing social relationships in an autonomous way with respect to their owners. The benefits are those of improving scalability in information/service discovery when the SIoT is made of huge numbers of heterogeneous nodes, similarly to what happens with social networks among humans. In this paper we focus on the pr… Show more

“…When devices trust each other, they 550 prefer to share services and resources. This is the same idea emerged in [72] and [70]. Such a paper presents a Fuzzy approach to the Trust Based Access fuzzy set theory and formal semantics-based language to perform the layered trust mechanism, evaluated by using specific layer attributes (i.e., efficiency, risk, history).…”

“…A similar approach to provide a trustworthiness evaluation is carried out in [72] in the so called Social Internet of Things (SIoT). This paradigm derives from the integration of social networking concepts into IoT, due to the fact that age, gender, type of sensor), common goals and warrants, history of interaction, availability, interactions.…”

“…On the other hand, [8] and [14] are discussed about trust assessment of social networks based on concepts like community of interest, friendship, followers as well as frequency, duration and behavior of the objects, which provides a foundation for this research. Once the TAs are evaluated, a mechanism that combine these TAs must be investigated.…”

“…The leveling system based on fuzzy mathematics for making a decision on authentication ranking. Meanwhile, M. Nitti [8] proposed trust model based on trustworthiness computation from friends experiences and opinions of a node in IoT environment. Trustworthiness value is calculated from centrality, intelligence, node's direct experience, and opinion.…”
