A Substrate Integrated Waveguide to Substrate Integrated Coaxial Line Transition

Abstract: Abstract-In this paper, a novel substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) to substrate integrated coaxial line (SICL) transition using the 3 dB SIW power divider (PD) and SIW 180 • phase shifter (PS) is proposed. The SIW-to-SICL transition realizes the easy integration of SIW, SICL, and active device in the same microwave communication system based on the substrate-integrated technology (SIT). To validate the design concept, the prototype has been fabricated and measured. Measurements are in good agreement with sim… Show more

“…So the SIW technology makes it possible to realize the waveguide in a substrate and provides a sophisticated way to integrate the waveguide with Mm wave planar circuits using the conventional low cost printed circuit technology [16][17][18][19]. Here, the dielectric filled waveguide is transformed to SIW by the support of vias for the side walls of the waveguide.…”

“…Different RF techniques and structures have been utilized to design phase shifters with stable bandwidth and also achieve variable or constant phase shifting. Substrate-integrated waveguide technique to implement phase shifters has some advantages such as low transmission and radiation losses [6][7][8].…”
