One of the preconditions for the development of agritourism is the cultivation and production of natural agricultural products. It is for this purpose that we studied the specificity of the interdependency between tourism and agriculture on the example of Guria, one of the regions of Georgia. The potential and development perspectives of all three municipalities of the region (Ozurgeti, Chokhat’auri, and Lanchkhuti) are discussed in the article. The study is focused on the main elements of agritourism, on the local possibilities of food production, and on its natural character. The results of the research prove that there is a great interest among tourists in this activity, which is due to the purchase and tasting of quality and safe food and their participation in its production. Besides that, hindering factors are identified: in the first place, it is the ignoring of food safety rules, the failure of the infrastructure, and insufficient financial resources.

Seasonal variations in the tourism industry consist of alternating patterns of overuse and underuse of touristic potential and resources, which correspond to overexertion in the peak periods and to reduced income levels in the trough periods. We analyze both trend and seasonal components for agritouristic boarding houses, conventional boarding houses, hotels, and overall arrivals in 41 Romanian counties by using the Season-Trend decomposition using the LOESS method previously used in forecasting. Our findings suggest that there is a moderate positive relation between trend and seasonality in agritouristic boarding houses, a situation that is not shared with other types of accommodation units studied. While at a country-wide level the seasonal character of agritourism is not significantly different from other types of accommodations studied, in some counties located in south-east Romania, the seasonality exhibited by agritourism is significantly lower. Agritourism seasonal patterns exhibit spatial correlation features, indicating that underlying natural and anthropic causes exert more influence than in the case of other types of accommodations. These findings may be used to shape public policy and entrepreneur behavior in agritourism and rural tourism, domains where farm income diversification is instrumental to surviving events such as crop failures, price changes, and consumer behavior.

Agricultural production has high correlations with natural hazards and water resource dynamic. Extreme rainfall brought by typhoons has a profound impact on agriculture in Taiwan. How typhoons impact agricultural activities and outputs is lacking research, especially in coastal regions such as Taiwan. In this report, the impacts of typhoon on agricultural loss from 2006 to 2019 in Taiwan was measured and called attention to the role of flood control construction in sustaining agricultural activities. With the help of Data Envelopment Analysis and geographical mapping, it is found that there are spatial differences in agricultural losses caused by typhoons. The main results indicate that the efficiency scores bring a inverse U-shape trend from the year 2007 (efficiency .718) to 2019 (efficiency .708). Looking further, Tainan City, Yunlin City, Chiayi County and other plain areas are vulnerable to hazards because the efficiency scores in these counties all below than 70%. However, some areas with prominent flood control construction showed a trend of agricultural damage reduction. This paper suggests that scholars should collect relevant data in the future and pay attention to the macro relationship between regional flood control construction and agricultural damage.
