A Mathematical Queuing Model Analysis Using Secure Data Authentication Framework for Modern Healthcare Applications

Healthcare application is one of the most promising developments to provide on-time demand services to the end users, vehicles, and other Road Side Units (RSUs) in the urban environment. In recent years, several application interfaces have been developed to connect, communicate, and share the required services from one source to another. However, the urban environment holds a complex entity of both homogenous and heterogeneous devices to which the communication/sensing range between the devices leads to connectivity breakage, lack of needed service in time, and other environmental constraints. Also, security plays a vital role in allowing everyone in the urban area to access/request services according to their needs. Again, this leads to a massive breakthrough in providing reliable service to authentic users or a catastrophic failure of service denial involving unauthorized user access. This paper proposes a novel topological architecture, Secure Authentication Relay-based Urban Network (S-ARUN), designed for healthcare and other smart city applications for registered transportation stakeholders. The registered stakeholders hold a built-in data security framework with three subsystems connected to the S-ARUN topology: (1) authentication subsystem: the stakeholder must identify themselves to the source responder as part of the authentication subsystem before transmitting the actual data service request; (2) connectivity subsystem: to periodically check the connection state of stakeholders as they travel along with the road pattern; and (3) service subsystem: each source responder will keep a separate queue for collecting data service requests, processing them quickly, and sending the results to the appropriate stakeholder. The Kerberos authentication method is used in working with S-ARUN's model to connect the stakeholders securely and legitimately. The performance of the proposed S-ARUN is assessed, and the performance metric toward key generation and other data security-related metrics is tested with existing schemes.

Data has become an increasingly significant component of the Internet as it has increased in popularity. Where people care more about the data than the location of data. The Named Data Network (NDN) took this concept and paired it with the idea of making data a core component rather than host addresses. Because of its in-network caching capability, NDN will become a better contender than current Transmission Control Protocol and Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) based networks as data traffic grows exponentially. NDNrelated challenges are available for investigation as NDN becomes more important. Routing in NDN is another essential domain that needs to be addressed, and several approaches have been presented to address routing concerns in NDN. In this study, we discuss and highlight NDN and its routing strategies comprehensively. In addition, this research illustrates a comparison of important routing paradigms to emphasis the breadth of routing research in NDN. Also, we investigate the routing attributes of NDN and expose the latest literature on this critical topic. Finally, this study provides useful insights into the emerging areas of guidance in the NDN to assist future studies in addressing challenges and open research issues. The impact of channel model on the performance of distance-based schemes in vehicular named data networks

<span lang="EN-US">Distance-based schemes present one of the methods to avoid the broadcast problem in vehicular named data networks. However, such schemes overlook the most factor in performance evaluation which is the variation in received signal strength caused by the propagation model choice. Thus, they are evaluated under one propagation model while neglecting the effect of the others. This paper evaluates the impact of the propagation variation model over three distance-based schemes, namely rapid named data networking (RNDN), enhanced vehicle on named data networking (EVNDN) and opportunistic interest forwarding protocol (OIFP). Simulation experiments are performed over three propagation models. Simulation results show that Nakagami significantly degrades network performance. However, it has a noticeable positive effect over higher distance resulting in a higher interest satisfaction ratio as compared to the other models. The RNDN exhibits a higher number of retransmissions across the Nakagami. In contrast, a higher number of retransmissions is exhibited by EVNDN when compared to the other schemes over the Friis and random. The OIFP show a higher interest satisfaction ratio when compared to EVNDN and RNDN under all models. OIFP shows robustness towards the adverse fading effects resulting from the Nakagami and exhibits lower end to end delays.</span>
