Agriculture is the backbone of India’s economic activity and we observe strong correlation between agricultural growth and economic prosperity. If India has to emerge as an economic power in the world, we need a new and effective technology which can improve continuously the productivity, profitability, sustainability of our major farming systems. One such technology is the Greenhouse technology. Greenhouse cultivation is particularly suited to offset the effects of climate change, by definition, greenhouse cultivation is based on controlled climate parameters including temperature, humidity, light, wind and CO2 concentration etc.
Realizing this, the present paper illustrates and discuss the Arm Cortex – M3 based smart sensor node to monitor the temperature and humidity of greenhouse. The sensor array is interfaced to monitor the physical parameters and the RF module is used to transmit the data wireless. The base station is equipped with the sink node which monitors and displays the data in user friendly format.
