Vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) is the hotspot research field of wireless mobile ad hoc network, it provides a new opportunity to create a safe and efficient transportation environment. However, as an open network where information has to interact frequently, it is difficult to ensure the security of data transmitted in VANETs and protect the privacy of drivers. Many existing information sharing schemes use complex encryption algorithms to enable secure traffic data sharing. Nevertheless, these schemes are not suitable for VANETs because of their high computational overhead and lack of corresponding tracking mechanisms for malicious vehicles. Therefore, a traffic data security sharing scheme is designed that combines blockchain technology and traceable ring signature algorithms to secure the transmitted messages. The traceable ring signature algorithm is formulated in combination with bilinear pairing, enabling conditional privacy protection instead of traditional ring signature. To improve the efficiency of VANETs, this scheme introduces edge computing technology to reduce the computational burden of Road Side Units (RSUs) by offloading most of the computational tasks to the servers via edge nodes. In addition, we use smart contract to track malicious vehicles. Security analysis and performance comparison show that our scheme is more efficient and secure for drivers than other existing related schemes.

As a core technology to manage decentralized systems, blockchain is gaining much popularity to deploy such applications as smart grid and healthcare systems. However, its utilization in resource-constrained mobile devices is limited due to high demands of resources and poor scalability with frequent-intensive transactions. Edge computing can be integrated to facilitate mobile devices in offloading their mining tasks to cloud resources. This integration ensures reliable access, distributed computation and untampered storage for scalable and secure transactions. It is imperative therefore that crucial issues of security, scalability and resources management be addressed to achieve successful integration. Studies have been conducted to explore suitable architectural requirements, and some researchers have applied the integration to deploy some specific applications. Despite these efforts, however, issues of anonymity, adaptability and integrity still need to be investigated further to attain a practical, secure decentralized data storage. We based our study on peer-to-peer and blockchain to achieve an Internet of Things (IoT) design supported by edge computing to acquire security and scalability levels needed for the integration. We investigated existing blockchain and associated technologies to discover solutions that address anonymity, integrity and adaptability issues for successful integration of blockchain in IoT systems. The discovered solutions were then incorporated in our conceptual design of the decentralized application prototype presented for secure storage of IoT data and transactions.

When cloud computing technology becomes increasingly mature and the application field is expanded gradually, it becomes the focus of attention to perfect the security mechanism under cloud computing environment. Identity authentication technology has some limitations and particularities when applied to cloud environment. In this paper, a bidirectional identity authentication scheme based on CPK technology is proposed, to resist forgery attacks in cloud computing environment. The role based access control plan is integrated with the combined public key authentication scheme, to strengthen the security of access control model and guarantee the security of cloud computing. Simulation experiments are conducted on the cloud computing simulation platform via the improved CPK identity authentication based on cloud environment. According to the experimental results, this scheme can effectively carry out user identity authentication under cloud environment, and the desired effect is obtained in the experiment.
