Despite the fact that the agricultural process is more data-driven, exact, and intelligent than ever before, the reality is that today’s agriculture industry is more data-driven, precise, and intelligent than ever before, regardless of public perception. Virtually every industry has been altered by the rapid expansion of Internet-of-Things (IoT)-based technologies, including “smart agriculture,” which has transitioned from statistical to quantitative methodologies. Such large advancements are upending conventional farming practises and offering new chances in the middle of numerous issues. A new paper looks at the promise of wireless sensors and the Internet of Things in agriculture, as well as the challenges that may occur when these technologies are integrated with traditional farming methods. Using Internet of Things (IoT) devices and communication protocols, wireless sensors utilized in agriculture applications are fully investigated. Sensors for soil preparation, crop status, irrigation, insect and pest detection, and other agricultural applications are on the list. From sowing to harvesting, packing, and transportation, this technique is explained. This article also discusses the use of unmanned aerial vehicles for agricultural monitoring and other useful purposes, such as crop yield optimization. When feasible, cutting-edge IoT-based agricultural ideas and systems are presented. Finally, we highlight present and future IoT trends in agriculture, as well as possible research challenges, based on this comprehensive analysis.

Farming has been the most prominent and fundamental activity for generations. As the population has been multiplying exponentially, the demand for agricultural yield is growing relentlessly. Such high demand in production through traditional farming methodologies often falls short in terms of efficiency due to the limitations of manual labour. In the era of digitization, smart agricultural solutions have been emerging through the windows of Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence to improve resource management, optimize the process of farming and enhance the yield of crops, hence, ensuring sustainable growth of the increasing production. By implementing modern technologies in the field of farming we can enable telemetry through which farmers can remotely monitor and gather real time data on the desired parameters. It also gives accurate and precise measurements when compared to traditional measurement techniques. This research paper focuses on an IoT based approach for smart monitoring using ESP WROOM 32 microcontroller that helps farmers identify real-time parameters of temperature, moisture and humidity of their field. Real-time data on temperature, moisture, and humidity enables farmers to make informed decisions about irrigation and crop protection. Furthermore, the use of smart monitoring ensures accurate and precise measurements, surpassing the limitations of traditional techniques.

Nowadays, the use of high-tech devices that make the lives of societies easier has gained importance. Thanks to Internet of Things (IoT) technology, devices communicate with each other and create a smart communication ecosystem. IoT means that not only computers but also smart devices can be connected to the internet. Large amounts of sensor data coming from physical environments are evaluated and converted into information and transmitted to operators or relevant persons, or an activity is carried out through the systems. For example, automatic irrigation projects such as plant watering are designs that aim to ensure healthy growth of plants and plants and to beautify the environment. Automatic irrigation system reduces time and effort in terms of practicality and helps to use water resources efficiently. It also saves water in water-scarce areas. In this project, a remote control and monitoring system was implemented using Arduino IDE, Firebase and MitAPP. Components such as Esp8266 Wifi card, submersible pump, L9110 Dual Motor driver, soil moisture sensor are used. The application was converted into an Android application via MitAPP Inventor and communication was established with the Firebase database. In this way, plant moisture measurements can be displayed in real time and manual or automatic watering can be done at any time. With the successful operation of this work, sufficient and correct amount of water is provided to the plants. Thanks to the technologies and components used in this study, it is aimed for the healthy growth of plants.
