Abstract:A Rangoon creeper flower (RCF) extract was investigated as green inhibitor to mitigate corrosion of mild steel in 1 M HCl solution. In the study, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, polarization techniques, and gravimetric methods were used. A significant reduction in the corrosion rate with increased concentrations of the RCF extract at varied temperatures was noted. The inhibition of the corrosion process is due to the adsorption of the RCF extract on the mild steel surface. Polarization measurements rev… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
