A systematic approach for major renovation of residential buildings

Abstract: In Sweden, buildings are responsible for about 40 % of total energy use and about 10 % of total CO 2 emissions. Today more than 60 % of existing Swedish residential buildings are over 40 years old and are in need of major renovation. In addition, 15 % of all multi-family buildings and 27 % of all single-family houses were built before 1945.
