A systematic assessment of Leishmania donovani infection in domestic and wild animal reservoir hosts of zoonotic Visceral Leishmaniasis

Abstract: Background Leishmaniasis is a neglected disease with a global spread that affects both domestic and wild animals in addition to people. Leishmania donovani is the suspected anthroponotic cause of VL in India, where it is an endemic disease. The reservoir hosts play a crucial role in the life cycle of the Leishmania parasite.
