“…The Mechanical Engineering SEEF worked with the capstone course instructor to develop a 'jigsaw' activity to experimental problem solving topics such as the hypothesis, procedures, data collection, analysis, and conclusions, and used pedagogy and discipline specific knowledge to create a legitimate, practical task for students. Each member of the capstone team 'breaks out' from the team and joins a 'topic expert' group to master a single topic (such as hypothesis writing), and then returns to their team to share and teach each other, combining knowledge together as a team to piece together a full complete solution to the full problem [32]. Capstone teams worked together to design an experiment to test the technology or device they created.…”
