A Systematic Literature Review of Green and Sustainable Logistics: Bibliometric Analysis, Research Trend and Knowledge Taxonomy

Abstract: Ever-growing globalization and industrialization put forward impending requirements for green and sustainable logistics (G&SL). Over the past decades, G&SL initiatives triggered worldwide deliberations, aiming at easing negative transport externalities and improving supply chain performance. This review-based paper attempts to offer a joint quantitative and qualitative understanding for the overall evolutionary trend, knowledge structure, and literature gaps of the G&SL research field. Employing th… Show more

“…Then, a total of 222 collected articles were analyzed from 5 aspects, including co-authorship, published journals, co-occurring keywords, article citations, and regions. This is because, in the literature review study, these five categories are generally regarded as the core parts of the scientometric analysis, assisting researchers in easily and clearly understanding the current research status [27]. The major measurements consist of total citations, documents, average publication year, and average normalized citations [28].…”

“…An ecological design aims to establish a secure and clean factory with respect to reduced cost of disposal, health safety and minimum environmental risk factors [13], leading toward enhanced quality of services and products, cost-efficient production and while promoting a strong public image of brand and company. According to Ren et al [21] by implementing eco-friendly practices, green design supply chain management can control about 80% of environmental impact, as Rostamzadeh et al [20] asserted that it is associated with the overall flow of supply chain process.…”

“…As a part of periodical papers, keywords can offer readers brief information about the research topic or method of the paper, and keywords co-occurrence analysis is often employed to detect the direction and hotspots in the research field [49]. BibExcel isolated the keyword information by applying filters in the metadata provided by WOSCC, and then generated a keyword co-occurrence matrix [50].…”
